What does Todoist do better than M6?
Almost everything to do with capture and organization. The listing describes Quick Add with dates and labels typed in plain language, speaking a task aloud, recurring tasks, sub-tasks and sections, labels and priorities, list, board and calendar views, sharing and assignment, comments and file uploads. It adds Siri, widgets, location reminders and Apple Watch capture, and syncs across devices.
If you run a household, a team or several projects, Todoist is the stronger tool. It has no opinion about your goals; it keeps your obligations in order.
What does M6 do better than Todoist?
It decides the day. A task manager gives you a long list and trusts you to choose. M6 shows three actions drawn from a 180-day route, each with a reason, and a time in minutes. You can move or skip an action and say why, or add your own. When the work is done you close the day with one question: how did it feel?
M6 also keeps the horizon in view. The Path tab shows six chapters, milestones with target dates and a weekly review that rebuilds the plan. Finished actions become proof, and a time capsule opens on day 180. These are features that a task list does not provide.
How would the same goal look in each app?
Take "Save 3,000 by March 31". In Todoist you would create a project, add recurring tasks such as "Log spending daily" and "Move money every Friday", and set due dates. Todoist will remind you at the right moment, and the list stays as you built it.
In M6 you choose Money as the category and describe the goal. The route sets chapters, for example Reset with a first checkpoint of income, fixed costs and leaks written down. Each day offers three actions that fit the chapter, and the plan shifts if you miss days. You do the same work, but the planning is done for you.
How do the prices compare?
Todoist is free to download, and its listing is the place to check paid plans. M6 keeps days 1 to 7 of a route free and plans a Pro tier. Payments are not connected in the current build. See M6 pricing.
Can I use both?
Yes. Todoist can hold errands, work tasks and shared projects. M6 can hold the single goal that you want to finish. The rule that works for most people: if it has to happen, it goes in the task manager; if it moves your goal, it goes in M6. Keep the daily list short by reading the guide to what to put on a daily to-do list.
Who should pick which?
- Choose Todoist to organize all tasks and projects, alone or with others.
- Choose M6 if one goal needs six months and a daily decision made small.
- Choose M6 if your list is long and you do not finish it.
- Use both if you need a manager for obligations and a planner for one goal.
