What is the short answer?

Pick Streaks if you want a polished tracker for a list of daily or weekly habits, with streaks, Health integration, an Apple Watch app and widgets. It is a paid app with 27,349 US ratings averaging 4.8. Pick M6 if you have one goal for the next six months and want the plan, the daily three and a record of what you did, without a streak to defend.

Streaks facts were checked on October 10, 2026 against its US App Store listing. Apps change, so verify before you pay.

What does Streaks do better than M6?

Breadth and polish for habits. The listing describes up to 24 tasks, negative tasks to break bad habits, timed tasks, a choice of how often each repeats, automatic completion from the Health app, notes, Siri Shortcuts, widgets and a well-reviewed Apple Watch app. It is also available on iPad and in 28 languages. If your list is "water, stretching, reading, no sugar", Streaks fits it well.

Streaks is also a finished product with years of updates, which matters if you want something stable today. M6 is in TestFlight.

What does M6 do better than Streaks?

It plans. Streaks tells you what you did today. M6 starts from the outcome you want in six months, builds a 180-day route with milestones, and shows three actions a day with a reason and a time for each. A weekly review asks how the week felt, what got in the way and whether next week should be less, the same or more, and then changes the plan.

It also takes a different view of misses. Instead of resetting a counter, M6 rebuilds the route from today and shows what moved, with the line "Change the plan. Not the goal." Finished actions go to the proof library, which only grows. A focus timer, a time capsule sealed until day 180 and an optional partner complete the loop.

Streaks or M6: how do they differ in daily use?

Imagine a goal of running a 10 km race in April. In Streaks you might create tasks such as "Run", "Stretch" and "Sleep before 11 PM", and each day you tick them. The app counts the streak. It does not know that the race is in April, that week 6 should be harder than week 2, or that your knee hurt last week.

In M6 you describe the race, and the route sets chapters and a target for each. On Tuesday Today shows three actions, perhaps an easy 3 km, a mobility routine and a log entry. If you skip one, you say why: no time, too difficult, low energy. The weekly review uses those answers to adjust next week.

How do the prices compare?

Streaks is a paid app. On October 10, 2026 the US listing showed $5.99. M6 keeps days 1 to 7 of a route free and is planning a Pro tier; payments are not connected in the current TestFlight build, so nothing is charged. See M6 pricing for how purchases will work.

Can I use both?

Yes, and some people should. Use Streaks for background habits that need no plan, such as water and stretching, and use M6 for the one goal that deserves a route. The risk is tracking in two places, so give each a clear job. If you find yourself maintaining both daily just to keep the streaks, drop the one that is not helping.

Who should pick which?

  • Choose Streaks to track up to 24 habits with Apple Health and Apple Watch support.
  • Choose M6 if one goal matters most and you want a route, a daily three and proof.
  • Choose M6 if a broken streak makes you quit.
  • Choose Streaks if you want a mature paid app today.
  • Read habit tracker vs goal tracker if you are unsure which type you need.

Frequently asked questions

Is M6 an alternative to Streaks?

For one goal over six months, yes. For tracking many daily habits with streaks, Health data and Apple Watch, Streaks is the better fit.

Does M6 have streaks?

No. M6 counts proof and "Showed Up" days out of the days that have passed, so the count only grows.

Does M6 work with Apple Watch?

No. M6 is an iPhone app, and Streaks lists an Apple Watch app.

Which is cheaper?

Streaks is a paid app at $5.99 in the US store as of October 2026. M6 charges nothing in the current build.

What happens when I miss days in M6?

The route is rebuilt from today and M6 shows what moved. Your goal stays, and you can keep the plan as it was.
